Lighting the way

Subject: Ministry Goals and more from Dwayna and Lighting the Way

Dear Everyone,
We had such a whirlwind year last year with my latest book for women and Barnes and Noble signings and trade shows. For more information on all we did, please go to . We plan to have more book signings in 2017, beginning with one on Valentine’s Day in Knoxville. Every woman who reads my book will read about my testimony and get the Gospel.
We made the books available for free to prostitutes and strippers on Bourbon Street in New Orleans last December in one of the most thrilling outreaches of my life. I had had a Barnes and Noble book signing there, and God put it on my heart to go back and buy my own books at retail from Barnes and Noble for the outreach, and He even provided Christians there in New Orleans to go with me to offer them for free to the prostitutes. Photos and a summary are on the blog here:
More goals for 2017 in ministry:
This spring we will be back at the outreach table at Columbus Circle in NYC, and I will be working with the team every Saturday there in the month of May. I do plan to be back in CA to set up the table at Venice Beach, but it will only be for a few weekends due to how expensive it is to visit. We also plan to be set up in full force in outreach in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park in LTW to the Smokies this spring at the LTW table and in the Rio Grande Valley. Dave Hawkins will be back out at Pearl Street in Boulder as much as he can set up. I am also planning on working more with the team in Atlanta this year. The mail situation has been horrible in MX, as we have lost 2 shipments of materials we have tried to send, but we will be sending more outreach materials in Spanish as soon as the mail is more reliable and secure. We will be paying about 100.00 to ship some of our materials for Muslims to Israel this week and praise God to still be working with the CMA table outreach, led by Rami, in Israel.
Bible Study Encouragement:
Bible Study by Warren Wiersbe (former pastor of Moody Church)
February 4, 2017 (Matt. 14:22-33)
It is a dark and stormy night, and twelve frightened men are in a boat.  The wind is contrary to them.  Have you ever tried to row a boat contrary to wind?  Just before the dawn, Jesus appears and everything changes.  We fear storms: mental, financial, family, health.  We need the scripture when we go through a storm.  What do you do?   Most of the time, we run and complain.  Matt. 14 tells us what to do.  When you find yourself in a storm, here are encouragements to help you.  There are five.
1.   He brought me here.  There are two kinds of storms.  One is due to disobedience; like Jonah was disobedient.  There are storms of sorrow and discipline.  Other storms will come, even when we are obedient.  The disciples obeyed and left the shore without Jesus, after the feeding of 5000.   When the storm came, they probably thought, “We obeyed Him and look what happened.”  There are good purposes for our storms.  Jesus could have us there to keep us from sinning.  The disciples often wanted to be the greatest in His kingdom.  Had Jesus left them there, they could have sinned by seeing the miracle and given glory to themselves instead of God.  Paul had a thorn in his flesh and said it was given so that he would not be exalted beyond measure.  We don’t learn much sometimes unless we go through a storm.  It builds character.  God knows how to balance our lives.  If all He did was bless us, without storms we would fall right on our faces.  Another reason He may bring storms is to prepare us for future ministry.  Peter was put in prison after 5000 people were saved.  Never be afraid when God brings a storm.
2He is praying for me.  Jesus alone was praying up on the mountain when the storm was beating.  When the Israelites left Egypt, an enemy army came after them.  God told them to go into battle. As long as Moses was on the mountain praying with his hands lifted up, they were winning.  People pray for us, which is a great blessing.  However, people don’t always know how to pray for us as they should, but the Holy Spirit intercedes for them.  As long as Jesus, our great high priest and advocate, is praying for us, Satan can’t touch us.  Jesus is in heaven now praying for us, and God always answers His prayer.  He doesn’t pray for the world, but for you and me.  When it’s dark with no stars, and the wind is blowing contrary to the way we are going, we can say, “He brought me here and is praying for me.  I don’t have to be afraid.  If no one else is praying for me, Jesus is.”
3.  He will come to me.  You feel all alone, like you’re the only one weeping, rowing against the wind, and feeling God doesn’t care.  In Ex. 14:21, God led Israel out of Egypt.  All night the wind blew.  He put darkness between them and Egypt.  They heard the army coming, and for a whole night they were in a storm.  While the wind was blowing, God was opening up the water for them to pass through.  Ex. 15 shows Israel praising God for how He delivered them from the Egyptians and brought them across the sea and to the other side.  In Ps. 22, David wrote the words about his storm; Jesus quoted his words on the cross.  “My God, why have you forsaken Me.”  In our storms, we may say, “Day and night, where are you, God?”  The apostles were discouraged after Jesus was crucified.  They learned that God would never desert them.  Regardless how you feel, Jesus will come to you in a storm.  Is. 43:1-2 says, “But now says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel.  ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name. You are Mine.  When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not java-script you.  When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.  For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.’”  He will come to you.  The same waves frightening the apostles were the steps to bring Jesus walking to them during their storm of tears.  When He comes, we sometimes don’t recognize Him.  His Word caused Peter to come walking to Him.  The more we read His Word, the quicker He comes to us.
4.  He will help me grow.  After all, that’s why we go through the storm.  He wants to give us more faith and courage.  In Luke 5, Peter went out with Jesus in the shallow water first (kindergarten).  Then, Jesus told him to launch out into the deep.  The day was sunny and the wind calm (elementary school).  On another occasion, Jesus was in the boat and the storm came at night (high school).  When Jesus was not in the boat, Peter walked out of the boat into the water toward Jesus (graduate school).  Nobody had ever walked on the water.  He learned Jesus can do anything.  If Jesus can walk on water, I can.  “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”  We love to walk on the shore on a sunny day, but walking on water takes a real believer.  Peter knew he was sinking and cried out.  He was only an arm’s length away from Jesus when he started to sink.  He took his eyes off Jesus which brought unbelief.  Jesus told him to come to Him, but Peter forgot His words.  Peter later wrote how “His eyes are on the righteous and His ears hear their cry.”  Jesus wants us to grow (shallow or deep, sunshine or storm, boat or no boat).  You walk or sink.  You can walk through the storm, if you keep your eyes on Jesus.  He will help you.
5.  He will see me through.  When Jesus got into the boat, instantly the storm stopped, and the boat was automatically on the other shore.  Before the storm, Jesus said to the disciples, “Go before Me to the other side.”  He never starts anything without finishing it.  His glory is at stake.  He is the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.  He who began a good work in you will complete it.  He is the author and finisher of your faith.  After this experience, the disciples worshipped Him and knew He was the Son of God.  They knew Him better and each other better.  Jesus had to go through a tumultuous storm of suffering on the cross for us.  Trust Him.  An eternal storm awaits those who do not know Him as their personal Savior from sin.  But, for us who have believed, we can be encouraged whatever our storm, by remembering:  He brought me here.  He is praying for me.  He will come to me.  He will help me grow.  He will see me through.   This God is my God forever, and He will be my guide, even unto death.  I can go into any storm with Jesus.

Never alone,

Our sister Emilie was curious, and searched on the internet for other existing organizations and associations which share “LA  BIBLE  POUR  TOUS”   vision of evangelization.
She was glad to discover the association   LIGHT  THE  WAY  INTERNATIONAL  and she started to build connections with the people who were responsible.
The leader of the association is  DWAYNA  LITZ ,  a  Christian lady singer and author.  She is working in a wide field of action:  the whole of North America, Mexico, the Philippines, Israel, the United kingdom, Pakistan, China and many other places.
Their way of evangelizing is quite similar to our's;  the idea is to have a  little stand where everyone can freely come and hear about the Gospel and the Lord Jesus.
DWAYNA  was kind enough to share with us several Christian public-orientated information materials such as booklets, brochures and so on.
We are looking forward to some happy collaboration in the future !
